About the ArtistFrom childhood, art has always strongly influenced my life. I’ve spent time working in charcoal, ceramics, painting, drawing, sculpture, photography and graphic design just to name a few. These all play a role in my creative process. At a young age my passion for jewelry was sparked! Growing up shortly outside of Manhattan I enjoyed the adventure of traveling into the city to purchase materials to include in my pieces. Eventually, this turned into a strong desire for metalsmithing which led me to the Pendland School of Crafts. While at Penland my emphasis was on jewelry design and fabrication. Directly after Penland I worked the bench for a well known jewelry designer in Scottsdale, AZ. From there I spent many years evolving through the fine jewelry industry working in design and sales for a long time established custom jeweler in the Phoenix area. Currently, I am based out of Sedona, AZ. Inspiration and Influence: Diversity is celebrated throughout my work. I have many inspirations and influences. The intense colors and natural textures that surround my studio in Sedona often come through in my work. Nature in general has inspired many pieces. Ancient metalsmithing techniques that date back as far as the ancient Egyptians, to blacksmith and ironwork have all influenced my technique. Being raised in an urban environment impacts much of my work as well. I typically pull from a variety of elements in the creation of a piece. An example would be putting an animal print texture on silver through oxidization and hammer work in a matter that is quite edgy and urban yet still natural and elegant.
